Since last year, the Street Kids of Rwanda Orphanage has found new sponsorship and the children are being re-integrated into families as part of a Rwandan initiative to become an orphan-less country. As a result, I am donating all of this year’s proceed to Growing Opportunities International (GO!), a Winnipeg-based non-profit organization that supports community-initiated, child-centred projects in East Africa. GO! shares the same values and approach that Julie and I have had while supporting the Rwandan orphanage.

And thanks for your support!
About Ivy
About Growing Opportunities International (GO!)
GO! is a volunteer- run, non-profit organization that partners with amazing women in East Africa who are committed to making their community a better place. We work hand in hand with our partners on the planning, funding, and implementing of every project until it becomes self-sufficient and sustainable within the community.
Thanks to incredible support in Winnipeg and beyond, GO! has been able to build a nursery school, a library, play structures and provide access to water for hundreds of students in Rwanda. GO! is now in the process of creating a commuity sports centre and home for street children and orphans in Tanzania. Every donation brings us one step closer to making our dream a reality for kids in Tanzania.

Ivy is a tattoo artist, a visual artist and a graphic designer living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She first visited South Africa in 2007, and has since been to Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziand, Rwanda and Uganda. In 2012, her good friend, Julie Epp, approached her to join in raising funds for the Street Kids of Rwanda orphanage and ultimately share that journey with her. They travelled to Rwanda together in March 2013 and Dec -Jan 2014.
It was a natural progression for Ivy to give back the love, friendship and generosity that she had received all those years in Africa.
"Africa is in my heart, and my heart is in Africa." - Ivy
